Technically, Vrsar stone is a very fine-grained limestone without pores within which it is possible to find crystallized cracks and stylolites. Among its building peculiarities, we list high compressive strength and frost resistance.
At first, Vrsar stone appears to have a pure ivory color on which delicate green and pink shades stand out; over time and if exposed to atmospheric agents, Vrsar stone can subsequently take on a shade tending towards light grey.
Mostly polished, Vrsar stone is often used for interior cladding. However, the resistance of Vrsar stone to low temperatures also make it an excellent choice for outdoor paving.
